Methodology

How we score brokers

Every broker score on Forex Awards is built from the same six categories, dated, and re-checked on a regular schedule. Here is what each category covers and how awards are decided.

The six categories

Each category is scored out of 5 using the broker's own documents, regulator registers and testing on live accounts. The overall score combines the six categories.

Category
What we look at
Fees & spreads
Typical spreads on major pairs, commissions, swaps, deposit, withdrawal, conversion and inactivity fees
Platforms & tools
Platform choice, order types, charting, mobile apps, automation and research tools
Regulation & trust
Licences for each legal entity, client money segregation, negative balance protection, compensation schemes, track record
Deposits & withdrawals
Payment methods, processing times, fees and minimum deposit
Customer support
Channels, hours, languages and the quality of answers to test questions
Education & research
Guides, market analysis, webinars and demo accounts

Dates and re-checks

Each profile shows when its figures were last verified. Figures are taken from a named source and re-checked regularly; if a broker changes its terms between checks, the change appears at the next review.

How awards are decided

Awards are given per category and per year. Each category has one published criterion, and we award it only when dated evidence from the broker's own documents gives a clear winner. Categories that need scored testing, such as best overall or lowest costs, stay open until that testing is complete. An award describes a broker's standing in one category at that time; it is not a general ranking or a promise of future performance. See the 2026 winners and evidence.

Commercial independence

Forex Awards may earn a commission when readers open accounts through our links. Commercial relationships never change scores, award decisions or the order in which brokers appear. See our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy.
