How withdrawals usually work
Regulated brokers must follow anti-money-laundering rules, so most return money to the method and account you deposited from, in your own name. If you deposited by card, the deposited amount usually goes back to that card, with any profit sent by bank transfer.
Method
Typical timing after approval
Notes
Bank transfer
1–5 business days
International transfers may carry bank fees
Debit or credit card
2–10 business days
Usually limited to the amount deposited by card
E-wallets
Same day to 2 days
Availability depends on country and entity
Timings are general and vary by broker, method and country. Check your broker's funding page for its own figures and fees.
Before your first withdrawal
Complete identity and address verification early, as unverified accounts cannot withdraw. Read the fee schedule for withdrawal, currency conversion and inactivity fees. Make a small test withdrawal soon after your first deposit.
If a withdrawal is delayed
✓Check the request status and any messages in your client area.
✓Confirm your verification documents are approved and up to date.
✓Ask support in writing for the reason and expected date.
✓If unresolved, use the broker's formal complaints process, then the regulator or ombudsman for your entity, such as the Financial Ombudsman Service in the UK or AFCA in Australia.
Warning signs
✕Repeated excuses with no clear reason or date.
✕New fees or "taxes" demanded before release. This is a common scam pattern; see how to spot a scam. ✕Bonus terms that lock your deposit until you trade a set volume.
