Best forex brokers in Canada in 2026
In Canada, retail forex dealers are overseen by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), and member firms' clients are covered by the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF) within its limits. Of the brokers we review, three serve Canadians through a CIRO-registered company: OANDA, FOREX.com and Interactive Brokers.
Canadian brokers side by side
Our FOREX.com review covers its US company; Canadian accounts are held by the separate Canadian dealer, so confirm deposits and pricing on FOREX.com's Canadian site before you apply.
Leverage and margin in Canada
CIRO sets minimum margin rates for each currency and updates them when volatility rises, so the maximum leverage on a pair can change. OANDA notes that margin also depends on your account's base currency. Check the current margin table on your broker's Canadian site rather than relying on a fixed figure.
What about the other brokers we review?
IC Markets says its global company does not serve Canadian residents. None of the other brokers we review lists a CIRO-registered Canadian company. If a broker accepts you through an offshore company, you would not have CIRO oversight or CIPF coverage.
